Andhra Pradesh CID, in coordination with the Department of Telecommunications, has arrested 14 individuals, including two foreign nationals, for their involvement in an international cybercrime network. The network used 'SIM Box' operations to convert international calls into local GSM calls, causing an estimated financial loss of Rs 20 crore. The operation involved secret import of SIM Box devices and routing calls through local SIM cards to deceive recipients. Raids were conducted across multiple states, leading to the recovery of SIM Boxes, phones, and numerous SIM cards.
