One passenger died and over 150 others were evacuated safely after a fire broke out in two AC coaches of the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express near Yelamanchili, Andhra Pradesh, early Monday morning. The blaze, which started in coaches B1 and M2, quickly engulfed both compartments. The deceased was identified as 70-year-old Chandrasekhar Sundar. Authorities are investigating the cause, with initial reports suggesting overheating brakes. The affected coaches were detached, and passengers were transferred to replacement coaches or buses.
