Following a fatal fire at the Goa nightclub Birch, authorities have cracked down on illegal establishments, sealing over a dozen clubs for violations. However, Shilpa Shetty's club, Bastian Riviera, continues to operate despite a demolition order and alleged illegal construction on coastal land. The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) initially issued a demolition order but later set it aside due to procedural lapses, issuing a show-cause notice instead. This has led to accusations of preferential treatment for Shetty's establishment.
