Ludhiana Police Arrest Driver with Opium and Poppy Husk, Owners Sought

Ludhiana police arrested truck driver Jagmel Singh on February 24-25, recovering over 5 kg of opium and 30 kg of poppy husk hidden in a vehicle returning from Madhya Pradesh. The contraband was concealed under empty plastic bottles. The truck owner, Taranpreet Singh, and his nephew Happy, allegedly involved in the smuggling, remain at large. Police are conducting raids to apprehend them and have filed an FIR under relevant narcotics laws.
