Jaipur Police Arrest Driver in Audi Hit-and-Run Incident Causing One Death

On January 9, 2026, a speeding Audi car hit a group of people eating at a dhaba near Kharabas Circle in Jaipur's Journalist Colony, resulting in one death and injuries to at least 12 others. The injured were admitted to SMS and Jaipuria Hospitals. Police arrested the driver, Dinesh, son of Rajendra Jat, who had a Rs. 25,000 reward on his head. The car was registered outside Rajasthan, but the owner and occupants are from the state. Two people have been detained in connection with the case.
