NEHU Registrar Injured in Stone Attack by Masked Persons in Shillong

Kailash Chandra Biswal, registrar-in-charge of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Shillong campus, sustained head injuries after masked individuals hurled stones at his vehicle on Mawlai Bypass. The attackers fled, and Biswal was hospitalized at NEIGRIHMS under neurology care. Police have registered a case and are investigating. NEHU Vice-Chancellor Prabha Shankar Shukla, who appointed Biswal, has been on leave since November amid protests over alleged administrative irregularities.
