Delhi Court Overturns Child Abuse Conviction Due to Procedural Error

A Delhi court set aside the conviction of a school van driver accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old boy, citing procedural errors. The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) convicted the accused and referred the case for sentencing, but the court ruled that under Section 325 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the JMFC should have only recorded an opinion of guilt.
