A 26-year-old digital marketing entrepreneur in Mumbai was allegedly defrauded of ₹1.26 crore in an online forex and cryptocurrency trading scam. The victim was contacted via WhatsApp by an individual claiming to be 'Watson,' who persuaded him to download a fake trading app called '1XBET.' Over nearly two years, the entrepreneur transferred funds to various accounts provided by the fraudsters, with the app falsely showing growing investments before he attempted to withdraw his money.
