
An alleged paddy procurement scam worth Rs 2.56 crore from the 2022-23 season has led to a case registered against seven individuals, including the former secretary of the Gharaunda market committee. Investigations revealed the use of fake vehicle entries, including two-wheelers and small cars, to show paddy transported for custom milling. Out-gate passes were reportedly generated falsely. Separately, a probe has been ordered into alleged irregularities worth Rs 39.24 crore involving fake gate passes at the Assandh grain market.
