Mumbai has seen a significant increase in sexual crimes during the first 11 months of 2025, with rape cases rising by nearly 19% compared to the previous year. Alarmingly, over half of the 1,135 registered rape victims were minors, a 5.5% increase from last year. Cases of outraging modesty also saw a marginal rise, while intended insult to modesty jumped by nearly 28%. Crimes targeting minors remain a major concern for authorities.
