Panchkula Police Arrest Seven in Online Betting Racket on Women's Premier League Matches

Panchkula police arrested seven individuals from a rented house in Sector 21 for operating a large-scale online betting racket on Women's Premier League cricket matches. Following a tip-off about bets placed on a match between Uttar Pradesh and Bengaluru, police seized Rs 7 lakh in cash, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic equipment. The accused, from Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Jammu, were booked under Section 4(1) of the Gambling Act and remanded to judicial custody. Authorities are analyzing seized devices to trace financial transactions and identify further connections.
