A Delhi court convicted Sona Lal, part of a group that robbed and stabbed migrant labourer Mohammad Afroj in June 2018, for attempt to murder under IPC Sections 307 and 394, read with Section 34. The court ruled that although Sona Lal did not personally use the weapon, the prosecution proved a common intention among the group. The absence of recovered stolen items or weapon and lack of independent witnesses did not weaken the case, according to the court's January 14 order.
