Bunty Jahagirdar, an accused in the 2012 Pune serial blasts case, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Shrirampur town, Ahilyanagar district, on Wednesday. Jahagirdar, who was out on bail since 2023, was returning from a burial ground when he was intercepted and fired upon by two individuals on a motorcycle. He sustained bullet injuries and later died at a hospital. Police have formed multiple teams to investigate the motive, which remains undetermined. Jahagirdar had multiple criminal cases registered against him. Two suspects have since been arrested.
