Mumbai Police have uncovered a coordinated 'date scam' racket in Mumbai where victims were lured via dating apps to specific restaurants, ordered expensive food and drinks, and then pressured by staff and bouncers to pay inflated bills ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹40,000. A police operation at Heaven Terrace 72 Cafe in Saki Naka led to the arrest of 10 individuals, including restaurant employees and accomplices. The scam involved women initiating dates and disappearing before payment, with some victims intimidated into settling large bills.
