
An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near Rasool Khel check post in Lakki Marwat district, northwest Pakistan, killing seven police personnel, including SHO Azam and police driver Shah Bahram. One injured officer later died in hospital. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility. Security forces launched a search operation and tightened security. President Asif Ali Zardari and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi condemned the attack and sought detailed reports while expressing solidarity with the victims' families.
