Mumbai Customs Arrest Two Kerala Men for Alleged Gold Smuggling at CSMIA
Mumbai Airport Customs arrested two men from Kerala for allegedly smuggling gold valued at Rs 1.23 crore and Rs 2.88 crore, sourced from Bangkok and Dubai respectively. Both were intercepted while crossing the Green Channel at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The gold, concealed in a bar and inside shoes, was seized under the Customs Act. Investigations are ongoing to uncover a larger smuggling network, with officials highlighting the need to prevent such activities to protect national security and revenue.
