
A former revenue inspector of Pandalam municipality, Reji George from Kaippattoor, Pathanamthitta, was sentenced by the Kollam Vigilance Court for accepting a bribe related to issuing an ownership certificate. He was found guilty under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and received concurrent sentences totaling seven years with a fine of Rs 20,000. The bribe demand was uncovered after the complainant reported the case to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, which arrested George in 2017.
