Borivali Jeweller Receives Extortion Threats Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang; Case Registered

A 45-year-old jeweller in Borivali, Mumbai, received extortion threats via WhatsApp and calls from an international number claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The initial demand was Rs 30 lakh, later reduced to Rs 4 lakh, with threats referencing a killing similar to Baba Siddique's. The jeweller reported the threats to police, who registered a case against an unidentified person. Separately, a man was arrested in Vile Parle for allegedly impersonating the same gang, with investigations ongoing to determine any connection.
