
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in Virudhunagar district registered 12 corruption cases in 2025, involving government officials. Eight individuals, including village administrative officers and engineers, were arrested for demanding and accepting bribes totaling ₹1.03 lakh. Searches also led to the seizure of ₹8 lakh in suspected bribe money from their residences. Additionally, three cases were registered following surprise checks in government offices, with ₹7.59 lakh in suspected bribe money seized. Further investigations are ongoing for cases related to amassing wealth.
