A gravel-laden truck overturned early Wednesday morning on Sidhwan Bet road in Ludhiana, falling onto a makeshift shanty and killing two children, identified as five-year-old Gopal and seven-year-old Pinki. The family, who sold stuffed toys, was sleeping when the accident occurred, possibly due to a tire burst. The truck driver and assistant fled the scene. The father, Sada Sukh, and three other family members were injured and hospitalized. Rescue efforts by the father and a vendor pulled the family from the debris.
