In Maharashtra's Palghar district, a 35-year-old woman, Kalpana Soni, was allegedly murdered by her husband and sister-in-law following a dowry dispute. Police reported that the victim, married in 2015, faced alleged physical and mental harassment from her in-laws. During an argument on Saturday, she demanded her dowry back, leading to an attack with a sharp weapon. While the accused claimed she fell, doctors confirmed the death was due to severe beatings. The husband and sister-in-law have been arrested and remanded to police custody.
