An off-duty Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer fatally shot an armed man outside his Los Angeles apartment complex on New Year's Eve. The officer reported hearing gunshots, encountered a man with a long rifle, and fired defensively after the individual allegedly pointed his weapon and failed to comply with commands. The man, who reportedly fired at the officer, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the incident.
