Chandigarh Education Department Conducts EWS Admission Draw for 2026-27 Session

The Chandigarh UT Education Department conducted a computerized draw of lots for admissions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Disadvantaged Group (DG) categories for the 2026-27 academic session in 57 unaided private schools. Out of 3,386 applications, 874 seats were allotted across three pre-primary levels: 799 in pre-primary I, 35 in pre-primary II, and 40 in pre-primary III. Selected parents are asked to visit schools by March 9. Some private schools have raised concerns over reimbursement and compliance, with officials stating reimbursements follow established criteria and noting ongoing legal proceedings.
