The National Medical Commission (NMC) has mandated a one-year internship in India for Indian students pursuing medical degrees abroad, particularly those enrolled in Bachelor of Science (BS) courses before November 18, 2021. This decision, detailed in a corrigendum to a December 7, 2023 notice, aims to ensure uniform medical education standards and protect public health. Students admitted before the FMGL Regulations 2021 notification will follow the 2002 Screening Test Regulations but must complete this additional Indian internship.
