A delegation of Canadian college and polytechnic leaders, organized by Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), began a week-long visit to India from March 16 to 20, 2026, to strengthen bilateral cooperation in skills development and workforce training. The mission follows Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's February visit and the launch of the Canada-India Joint Talent and Innovation Strategy. The delegation will engage with Indian government officials, industry leaders, and educational institutions in New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai to explore partnerships supporting practical, industry-focused education and workforce priorities. CICan leaders emphasized Canada's welcoming environment for Indian students and the importance of deepening educational ties.
