The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has approved the creation of a separate cadre for teachers in 118 government schools affiliated with the CBSE, effective next academic session. This move aims to enhance student preparation for national entrance exams by offering a wider curriculum. The state plans to appoint 400 new teachers each for English and mathematics for a five-year term. Existing Education Department teachers will have the first option to join this cadre after clearing a test, with limited transfer opportunities thereafter.
