
The Tamil Nadu Class 12 board examinations for the academic year 2025-26 began on March 2, with over 8.27 lakh students appearing across 3,412 centres statewide. Exams will run until March 26, with daily invigilation by more than 49,000 teachers and security measures including 4,900 flying squads. The government has discontinued Class 11 public exams, though re-examinations continue. Notably, 281 prison inmates are also participating, reflecting efforts toward educational access and rehabilitation. Meanwhile, CBSE plans to reintroduce digital On-Screen Marking for Class 12 assessments from 2026.
