Government Mandates 150 Hours of On-the-Job Training for ITI Trainees

The Directorate General of Training (DGT), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, has mandated 150 hours of on-the-job training or group project for Industrial Training Institute (ITI) trainees under the Craftsmen Training Scheme. This reform, aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, reduces annual training hours from 1,600 to 1,200 and aims to enhance practical skills by providing real industrial exposure.
