
A planned 50-acre extension campus of IIT Delhi in Jhajjar, Haryana, has been halted after a technical survey found the land unsuitable due to weak, waterlogged soil with low load-bearing capacity. The government confirmed that IIT Delhi already operates a 50-acre extension campus in Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonipat, which hosts advanced research facilities valued at around Rs 190 crore, supporting diverse scientific and industrial collaborations.
