External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar launched IITM Global, an international research and innovation platform by IIT Madras aimed at establishing it as a multinational university. The initiative, IITM Global Research Foundation, seeks to expand the institute's global footprint through joint research, startup partnerships, academic programs, and technology commercialization. It aims to foster collaborations and bring global projects and capital back to India. MoUs have been signed with partners in the US, UK, Germany, Dubai, and the Asia-Pacific region.
