IIT Madras has launched IITM Global, an international research and innovation platform aiming to position the institute as a multinational university. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar inaugurated the initiative, which seeks to expand global research, startup, and academic collaborations. The platform will establish initial centers in the US, Dubai, Malaysia, and Germany, focusing on technology transfer, joint research, startup opportunities, and attracting foreign investment. The launch coincided with the IITM Festival Fortnight, including the institute's open house and technical and cultural festivals.
