The Rajasthan government has mandated daily newspaper reading for at least 10 minutes during morning assemblies in all state-run schools. This initiative, effective from a December 31 order, aims to foster reading habits, enhance vocabulary, and improve students' general awareness and understanding of current affairs. Schools will subscribe to Hindi and English newspapers, with costs covered by the Rajasthan School Education Council. The program also encourages identifying new words and discussing news content, mirroring a similar move by Uttar Pradesh.
