The Rajasthan government has mandated daily newspaper reading in state-run schools to enhance students' awareness of current affairs and improve language skills. Higher secondary schools must subscribe to two newspapers (one English, one Hindi), while primary schools need two Hindi papers. Students in Classes 6-12 will read editorials and news, learn new vocabulary daily, and participate in group discussions on 'No Bag Day'. Officials believe this will boost general knowledge, expression, and competitive exam preparation.
