India to Celebrate National Science Day 2026 with Focus on Women in Science

India will observe National Science Day on February 28, 2026, commemorating C.V. Raman's 1928 discovery of the Raman Effect, which earned him the 1930 Nobel Prize in Physics. The Department of Science and Technology has designated the theme as "Women in Science: Catalyzing Viksit Bharat." Celebrations include events at IISER Pune featuring lectures by women scientists and science demonstrations, alongside a national-level program at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, with expert talks and panel discussions highlighting scientific research and innovation.
