
Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, former UGC chairman and ex-vice-chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, has been appointed Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIM Calcutta for a four-year term or until he turns 70, whichever is earlier. Approved by President Droupadi Murmu, Kumar brings extensive academic and administrative experience, including his tenure at IIT Delhi and leadership roles in higher education reforms such as implementing the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The BoG oversees strategic, policy, and financial decisions at IIM Calcutta.
