Delhi Sees Marginal Rise in Teachers with Women Constituting Majority in 2024-25

Data from Delhi's Department of Economics and Statistics shows a slight increase in the total number of teachers in educational institutions from 1,60,479 in 2023-24 to 1,61,958 in 2024-25, with women comprising about 73% of the workforce. Teacher numbers rose marginally at primary and middle school levels but declined slightly in secondary schools. Senior secondary schools had the largest share of teachers. Meanwhile, student enrollment continues to grow steadily across schools and higher education.
