NMC Allocates Over 43,000 Internship Seats for Foreign Medical Graduates in 2026-27

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed medical institutions across India to allot over 43,000 Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) slots to eligible Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) for the 2026-27 academic year. These 43,250 internship seats, available across 797 colleges, are in addition to existing positions and partly result from a nationwide increase of 36,502 MBBS seats between 2022-23 and 2025-26. States like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka have seen significant seat expansions, facilitating more internship opportunities for FMGs.
