Chandigarh has been declared a fully literate union territory, achieving this milestone through the ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram. Approximately 15,000 learners passed the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test. Officials highlighted the collective effort, community participation, and meticulous planning involving educators and volunteers. This achievement aligns with the National Education Policy 2020's vision for universal literacy and lifelong learning, with efforts including door-to-door surveys and special classes for adults and elderly citizens.
