
The Union Ministry of Education has formed a three-member committee to review Panjab University's proposal to raise its teachers' retirement age from 60 to 65 years. Chaired by former UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar, the panel includes the vice-chancellors of Delhi University and Panjab University. It will assess legal, financial, and institutional implications, including parity with other regional and central institutions, and consider previous government decisions on retirement age adjustments.
