India is emerging as a global education hub with foreign universities establishing campuses, offering Indian students access to international education domestically. The University Grants Commission (UGC) is approving these ventures under new regulations. Universities like the University of Southampton have already begun operations in Gurugram, offering programs in business, computing, and engineering. Queen's University Belfast and Lancaster University are also set to open campuses in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, and Bengaluru, respectively, with postgraduate courses planned.
