Michael Byrne, a British character actor known for roles in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and Braveheart, died on June 20, 2026, at age 82. His career spanned over six decades with more than 170 screen credits and significant stage work, including training at the Old Vic. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Byrne is survived by his ex-wife Carole Nimmons, daughters Tara and Bryony, and grandchildren.
