Santhakumari, mother of Malayalam actor Mohanlal, passed away in Kochi at the age of 90. She had been undergoing treatment for age-related neurological issues and was staying at her son's residence. Santhakumari, originally from Pathanamthitta, had lived in Thiruvananthapuram with her late husband, a former bureaucrat. Mohanlal, who was in Kochi at the time of her passing, shared a close bond with his mother, often crediting her influence on his career. She is survived by Mohanlal and her elder son Pyarelal, who passed away in 2000.
