Prime Video has cast actor Ryan Hurst as Kratos in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular God of War video game series. The show, greenlit for two seasons with pre-production underway in Vancouver, will focus on Kratos' journey alongside his ten-year-old son, Atreus. Hurst, previously the voice of Thor in God of War: Ragnarok and a BAFTA nominee for that role, brings familiarity to the franchise. Emmy-winning director Frederick E.O. Toye will direct the first episodes, with Ronald D. Moore as showrunner.
