Malik stated that he has received proper credits from Bhushan Kumar and is proud of this "unique collaboration." While the original song was composed by Malik, the recreation for Border 2 is by Mithoon, with additional lyrics by Manoj Muntashir Shukla and original lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The song's teaser features Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh, and the full version is set for release on January 2, 2026.
