
Director Sriram Raghavan revealed that Saif Ali Khan was initially hesitant to star in his 2004 neo-noir thriller 'Ek Hasina Thi', marking Raghavan's directorial debut. Saif, uncertain after recent mixed successes and having just completed 'Dil Chahta Hai', was unsure if the film was the right choice. The story came to Raghavan after postponing another project, 'Ab Tak Chhappan'. Despite doubts, Saif trusted Raghavan due to shared artistic interests, and the film was written by Pooja Ladha Surti.
