Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar Discuss Development and Cast of Jailer 2 Sequel
Rajinikanth, initially skeptical about sequels, agreed to star in Jailer 2 after seeing potential in the first film's ending. Director Nelson Dilipkumar also hesitated but postponed a Telugu project to develop the sequel. The film, releasing on October 15, 2026, features returning and new cast members, including Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty. Tamannaah Bhatia, who appeared in the first film, is absent from the sequel despite Rajinikanth's request for a song featuring her.
