Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down as president of Lucasfilm to become a full-time producer, Walt Disney announced. Dave Filoni, co-creator of the 'Star Wars' series 'The Mandalorian' and a protege of George Lucas, has been named president and chief creative officer. Kennedy led Lucasfilm since Disney's 2012 acquisition, overseeing three sequel films and the spinoff 'Rogue One.' Following mixed film performances, Disney paused new 'Star Wars' movies in 2019 to focus on live-action TV projects. Filoni will now guide the franchise's film and television content alongside co-president Lynwen Brennan.
