Internationally acclaimed documentary and television filmmaker S. Krishnaswamy, founder of Krishnaswamy Associates, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Chennai at the age of 88. Known for producing over 900 non-fiction films, including 'Indus Valley to Indira Gandhi', Krishnaswamy was a recipient of the Padma Shri in 2009 and the Dr. V. Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. He had been undergoing treatment for a heart ailment.
