Playback singer Kumar Sanu has filed a ₹50 crore defamation suit against his estranged wife, Rita Bhattacharjee. Sanu alleges Bhattacharjee made false and baseless statements attacking his character and reputation in interviews published on YouTube in September 2025. He claims these actions, occurring nearly 32 years after their separation, have caused him and his family severe mental distress and tarnished his goodwill in the music fraternity. The suit seeks damages for these alleged defamatory acts.
