Dev Anand Made to Wait Outside Amitabh Bachchan's Residence After Book Launch

In 2007, during the launch of Dev Anand's autobiography, Amitabh Bachchan attended briefly but left before dinner and did not collect a copy of the book. The next day, Dev Anand was reportedly made to wait outside Bachchan's residence, Jalsa, for about half an hour. Dev Anand's friend Mohan Churiwala recalled that Amar Singh, who was close to the Bachchan family and involved in arranging the event, had promised Bachchan's attendance along with Anil and Tina Ambani. Political tensions involving Amar Singh and Congress leaders present at the event may have influenced the circumstances, leading to an early departure and the waiting incident at Jalsa.
